HISTORY OF NESTLÉ CHILE
Nestlé is a publicly traded Swiss multinational in the food sector with more than 400 factories and a presence in more than 190 countries. It was founded in 1866 by businessmen Charles and George Page, and Henri Nestlé. It is a company, therefore, with more than 150 years of history.
Owner of more than 2.000 brands, Nestlé is known throughout the world mainly for chocolates such as Sulflair, Prestígio, Chokito, Charge, Alpino and Galak, among others. In addition, it also manufactures and sells chocolate milk, cereals, coffee, ice cream and cookies, among other products.
The company began operating in Chile in 1934 and, two years later, opened its first factory in Retiro. Later, in the following decades, it established new factories in Los Angeles, Osorno and Llanquihue, among other locations in the country.
In Chile, Nestlé is a powerhouse. Therefore, in 2015, the local board created a project that aimed to bring its employees closer together, thus generating a family atmosphere, which certainly provides better working conditions. This project required the use of VTEX technologies. Find out more next!
NESTLÉ’S PROJECT WITH VTEX
Nestlé's project with VTEX technologies consisted of creating an e-commerce using the Business to Employee (B2E) model. The acronym B2E, for those who don't know, refers to the business model in which a company sells products to its own employees.

SOLUTIONS
Among VTEX's solutions for Nestlé's B2E e-commerce in Chile we can mention, for example:
- Consumer Relations Platform: the company's B2E e-commerce was first developed with the platform VTEX. Recently, however, the upgrade to the platform low-code VTEX IO, which provides greater power of customization and development of features for the online store;
- Live shopping: with the feature Live Shopping VTEX, Nestlé Chile broadcast streaming live video with a digital influencer for registered employees, thus activating more sales on the Despensa Contigo website;
- VTEX Master Data: tool allows you to create different access profiles. In this way, it made it possible to create advanced permission settings on the Despensa Contigo website. Therefore, ordinary consumers cannot access the Despensa Contigo store, but only registered employees.
After purchases, Nestlé Chile takes care of last mile deliveries. Delivery times are controlled so that products such as ice cream reach customers in ideal consumption conditions.
The Nestlé Chile project with VTEX technologies therefore works in a restricted environment with a small audience. Indeed, it is the ideal place to create innovations in the field of e-commerce. With good results in B2E, you will be able to replicate the news in your B2C virtual store, for example. Speaking of results, check out the Despensa Contigo store’s revenue percentage below!
