Hello, hello, my friends and readers of the e-Plus Agency blog! Today I bring you another article in the series about the great success stories of VTEX . I started this series in January 2023 and since then I have already presented the cases of Carrefour , Aramis , Ri Happy and Decathlon . And now it's Under Armour's turn, which migrated its e-commerce to the VTEX platform and obtained a considerable increase in sales. Check it out below!

GET TO KNOW UNDER ARMOR

Under Armor is an American multinational sports company headquartered in the city of Baltimore, in the state of Maryland, and present in more than 100 countries. It is a company that manufactures and markets clothing and footwear for basketball, soccer, running, golf and other sports.

Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football special teams captain Kevin Plank, Under Armor has grown rapidly. So much so that the following year, in 1997, it reached US$100 in orders and, in 1999, US$750.

Later, in the following decades, Under Armor obtained a US$12 million investment from the private equity firm Rosewood Capital, went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange and launched its first retail outlet in a mall. In addition, the company closed an agreement with Major League Baseball and launched an e-commerce, among other actions.

In 2021, Under Armor migrated the virtual store to the VTEX platform, which serves other major global brands such as Coca-Cola, Sony and Panasonic, for example. In this way, the sports brand accelerated its digital growth and achieved a significant increase in sales. Keep reading to find out more!

THE UNDER ARMOR VTEX PROJECT

With the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent closure of physical stores in 2020, companies had to adapt to the digital environment. It was no different with Under Armour, which needed to invest more in e-commerce. Therefore, in 2021, in an attempt to optimize the consumer journey at all touchpoints, the company migrated to the VTEX platform.

The migration, which lasted just 90 days, accelerated the digital transformation at Under Armor in Brazil. With the new platform, the multinational is now able to manage products, stocks, prices and promotions in a single place. In addition, VTEX allows you to integrate with partners in a more practical way, among other solutions.

SOLUTIONS

VTEX provided Under Armor's e-commerce with a series of solutions that did not exist before the platform migration. Now, the company can carry out interventions such as:

  • Customization of the shipping term;
  • Integration of a wider range of payment methods;
  • Application of omnichannel experiences such as click and collect e ship from store;
  • Integration of e-commerce with physical stores, whether owned or franchised.

Furthermore, with the VTEX platform, Under Armour now has greater agility in inventory management. Moreover, it can implement an endless shelf strategy . In this way, the company can reduce stockouts and increase product availability for consumers.

RESULTS OF THE UNDER ARMOR VTEX PROJECT

The improvements brought by the VTEX platform generated good results. Shortly after the migration, Under Armor was already able to achieve a 35% increase in sales conversion compared to the platform the brand used previously. It's a very impressive result.
