DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF OSTER
Oster's story began in 1924, when entrepreneur John Oster founded a hair scissors factory in the garage of his home in the USA. Coincidentally, we are in 2024, the year in which this multinational celebrates 100 years of existence.
Oster's key year, however, was 1946. At that time, it acquired the company that invented the blender, Stevens Electric. In the same year, it launched its first device of its kind, the Osterizer. The production and sale of blenders has only prospered since then.
It then began manufacturing and selling mixers, toasters, ovens, juice extractors and other appliances. Later, in the 1990s, it began its international expansion and, in the 2010s, it also started manufacturing electric coffee makers.
Six years later, in 2016, Oster directors began searching the market for a top-of-the-line e-commerce platform with which they could optimize digital commerce. After much research, the platform chosen for the project was VTEX. Learn more about this in the next topic!
OSTER’S PROJECT WITH VTEX
Therefore, in 2016, Oster hired VTEX to boost e-commerce sales in Latin America. The project included the continuous improvement of the brand's online stores in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil . VTEX implemented several solutions, some of which you can learn about below. Keep reading!
SOLUTIONS
Among VTEX's solutions for Oster we can mention, for example:
- DTC: acronym for Direct to Consumer, DTC allowed Oster to sell directly from its factory to end consumers in Latin America;
- B2B: acronym for Business to Business, that is, through this solution Oster can make sales to other companies such as distributors, wholesalers and retailers, for example;
- B2B2C: acronym for Business to Business to Consumer, this solution allows Oster to sell to other companies and to the end consumer at the same time;
- Integration with marketplaces: Through the VTEX Marketplace, Oster can act as marketplaceout, making sales on other companies’ marketplaces;
- Flexibility: being Headless, the VTEX platform enables Oster to couple and decouple applications at any time. This way, the manufacturer can scale its e-commerces more easily, depending on demand;
- live shopping: transmission of streaming live video feed to consumers in online stores and on social media. Consumers, in this case, can interact and make purchases during broadcasts.
Ultimately, with these and other solutions, Oster continues to be able to adapt its digital channels to online customers, always delivering the best possible experience for them and, in this way, improving the company's results. In fact, since we mentioned the word “results”, let’s get to them now!
