Hello, hello, friends of the e-Plus Agency blog, how are you all? I present to you another article in the monthly series about VTEX's great success stories . But before we begin, I'd like to remind you that I started this series in January 2023. Since then, I've already presented the cases of Carrefour , Aramis , Ri Happy , Decathlon , Under Armour , Samsung , Unilever , Electrolux , Sony , and Motorola . Now, however, it's Swift's turn, an American food company acquired by the Brazilian company JBS for US$1,4 billion in 2007. Follow this case below!
DISCOVER SWIFT
Swift is an American brand that appeared in history in 1855, therefore, more than 100 years ago, on the initiative of businessman Gustavus Franklin Swift. During her career, she has worked in the areas of packaging and selling meat, cheese, margarine and butter. In addition, it was present in the insurance and oil sectors.
In the 1960s, however, Swift was spun off. During that period, the Swift Independent Packing Company was created, which began to deal only with the meat business. Later, in 2007, the company was acquired by JBS, which manages it to this day.
JBS, in turn, is a multinational company headquartered in São Paulo and present in more than 20 countries such as the United States, Canada, Brazil and Australia, for example. It owns brands such as Marba, Seara, Friboi, Doriana and Swift, among others.
With an omnichannel DNA , Swift operates across multiple channels. It has over 400 physical stores, primarily in major Brazilian cities; an e-commerce website; and an e-commerce app. In addition, it has mobile stores in vans and stores within large supermarkets.
In recent years, the company's directors concluded that they needed to equip their e-commerce platform with grocery features , including services for order picking and delivery of frozen products. This led to the idea of using the VTEX platform to orchestrate this project.
THE SWIFT PROJECT WITH VTEX TECHNOLOGIES
Swift's project with VTEX technologies consists of creating a unified commerce platform , which includes the integration of physical store inventories with the online store and mobile app. The idea is to facilitate the consumer shopping experience across all sales channels.
SOLUTIONS
Swift implemented an e-commerce platform using VTEX in 2017. Since then, the company has been working on the continuous improvement of this sales channel, as well as its offline sales channels . Through VTEX technologies, it has been able to implement several solutions in recent years, such as:
- VTEX WHO: with this tool, Swift is able to unify its stocks, thus allowing the creation of a infinite shelf, which avoids the stock break. This way, physical stores can receive orders from the brand's app and online store. The system can identify the closest stocks that can fulfill orders. It displays delivery possibilities according to stock availability;
- VTEX Pick and Pack: with this solution, Swift transformed its physical stores into small regional Distribution Centers. This feature allows store employees to perform the fulfillment and, in this way, deliver the product to customers in the channels online ou offline on the same day or within 2 hours. In other words, the company can now offer a delivery experience like ship from store e pick up in store.
Ultimately, the creation of unified commerce through VTEX technologies provided Swift with the chance to achieve major expansion. In the next topic, I present some results that the company has obtained in recent years. Check out!
SWIFT PROJECT RESULTS WITH VTEX
Through VTEX technologies, Swift achieved:
- 198% growth in transactions;
- 49% conversion rate increase;
- 198% increase in revenue.
It is worth mentioning, Swift has multiplied its growth by 8 times since 2019, thanks to VTEX technologies. Growth like this, 700%, is not achieved every day. But with VTEX, anything is possible. Well then, do like Swift, implement unified commerce with VTEX!
