In March 2017, Rock Content conducted a survey of 958 individuals that demonstrated their preferences regarding certain aspects of national e-commerce, which can be leveraged by you online retailer reading me now.
One of the questions raised in the project was why consumers have already bought from e-commerces. Let’s see what respondents answered in percentage data:
• 74,2% of consumers have already looked for virtual stores because prices are usually cheaper than those of physical stores;
• 73,3% like the ease of comparing prices and products that online stores offer;
• 69,6% think that shopping in virtual stores is more comfortable;
• 49,1% like the possibility of checking reviews and comments about the products and/or services that online stores provide;
• 36,5% have already sought out online stores because of the complete presentations and descriptions of the products and/or services;
• 34,7% of consumers say that discount coupons motivate them to shop at online stores;
• 21,4% reveal that they looked for a virtual store when this was the only place where the desired product was available;
• 8,7% have already purchased from online stores through referrals from other people;
• 0,7% have already purchased from virtual stores for other reasons.
The study also pointed out that very high shipping costs , reflection on the need for the purchase, and very long delivery times are the main factors for abandoning a purchase, also known as shopping cart abandonment.
All of these problems have solutions. The issue of reflecting on the need for a purchase, which causes abandoned purchases, for example, can be resolved with the SmartCheckout® feature of the Vtex e-commerce platform , which facilitates impulse buying.
Eliminate problems and gradually implement solutions in your online store so that it can become an outlier e-commerce business in the near future.
