A survey carried out by the Credit Protection Service (SPC) in partnership with the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL) pointed out that 43% of Brazilian internet users increased the volume of online purchases in the last year.
The study was carried out from 18 to 27 April 2017 and took into account multiple residents (men and women of various age groups) of the 27 national capitals.
In addition to discovering the increase in online shopping, the research also shows that:
• 38% of those surveyed maintained their purchase volume
• 18% decreased the volume of purchases
• 89% made at least one online purchase in the last 12 months
• 4% said they never shopped online
Regarding generational behavior in e-commerce, the study reveals that, among Brazilians surveyed, those aged between 35 and 49 represent 95% of the online shoppers.
Among the advantages of shopping online, consumers highlighted the following:
• 58% said they buy online because the products are cheaper
• 45% said they like the convenience
• 31% highlighted that it is possible to shop at any time
• 29% highlighted the time savings
• 28% exposed the facility to compare prices
