For search engines like Google, each link acts as a vote of confidence. And, more than that, links distribute what's called "link juice," a digital value that increases the power of the receiving pages. Thus, the more links a page receives, the greater its power and the better its ranking in SERPs , and the more visitors it receives.

The idea is simple, but those interested in learning how to do link building should also know that this is a strategy that, in many cases, isn't cheap. To give you an idea, according to data from Aira , 44% of companies that do link building spend an average of US$500 to US$5.000 per year on the process. However, the majority (56%) spend between US$5.000 and US$50.000 annually. Obviously, those who invest more get a greater return. Despite being expensive, this strategy generates excellent returns.

If you are interested in learning how to do link building, then maybe you can start with these 7 essential techniques:

1 – Optimize links:

Before taking any other action, use a tool like Semrush, for example, to analyze the quality of internal and external links and current backlinks on your site. From there, fix broken links, delete dubious links, reject bad backlinks, etc.

2 – Create rich content:

Produce rich, high-quality content. This type of content is generally longer and more in-depth. The post should be around 2.000 words. According to HubSpot, posts like these generate more backlinks.

3 – Prospect links:

Your content must have external links, that is, that point to third-party websites. Indeed, you can send an email to these “third parties” and ask for a refund. Say “I'm so and so from blog X. I mentioned your blog in my article Y. Could you reciprocate by sending me a link to my post Z?”.

4 – Sign partnerships:

More or less like prospecting links, partnerships are for you to exchange backlinks. In this case, however, it focuses on the production of guest posts and co-marketing. Choose partners whose sites have good page authority and domain authority.

5 – Invest in press relations:

Ideal for spreading news about your company, such as product and service launches. An advisory can write a release about the novelty and send it to thousands of journalists, who will be able to create reports on the subject, generating hundreds of backlinks to your site.

6 – Run campaign on RD Station:

The RD Station platform , which we at Agência e-Plus use to promote our e-commerce clients, allows you to create link building campaigns. Through RD, it's possible to send mass emails requesting links that mention the brand.

Buying backlinks is not a very common tactic in Brazil, but it can be used by companies. To give you an idea, the cost (abroad) can range from US$100 to as much as US$1.500 per link, according to information from Siegemedia.
