SEO White hat is a term that describes best practices for indexing and ranking websites (such as your online store and e-commerce blog , for example) in search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and Google.

This term came into existence in history to offer an alternative to so-called black hat techniques , which are bad practices aimed at circumventing search engine rules to position posts in the top results and thus obtain more visits to a website.

Basically, the difference between white hat and black hat techniques are:

black hat:

The main objective is to position articles in the top positions of search engines and, in this way, obtain more audience for the website.

White hat:

The objective is to offer solutions to users' pains and desires, which, consequently, generates relevance and audience for the site.

I don't know if you grasped the essential idea behind each of these sets of techniques. If not, I'll explain it more simply. Black hat is about self-concern, while white hat is about giving and caring for others.

In the article “ How black hat SEO techniques destabilize your e-commerce ” you can read about some “black hat” maneuvers that you should never use in your online store. Below, I present some fundamental rules for white hat SEO; check them out:

work with a Buyer Person:

All the content you produce for your blog and product pages on your online store should aim to offer answers and solutions to the desires and questions, and alleviate the fears, of your Buyer Persona.

Produce original content:

In addition to being relevant to your Buyer Persona, the content needs to be completely original. To achieve this originality, use the 5-phase method described in the post " 8 masterful tips for creating SEO content for e-commerce ".

Update periodically:

Generate content for your e-commerce blog regularly and update your online store's product pages with new approaches, videos, images, infographics—anything that can help your customer.

The conclusion we can draw from this article is that before working with SEO , we need to forget a little about our own survival and think more about the survival of others (consumers). If we can help them, the reward will come.
