User Experience (UX) is a concept used in marketing to define how a consumer uses a product or service (whether free or paid).
The ease with which a product or service can be used is called " usability ." Therefore, the easier the usability, the better the User Experience.
UX is contained within Customer Experience (CX) , which defines the impressions, experiences, and activities a consumer has and/or performs when connecting with the various channels of your e-commerce business.
In the e-commerce universe, UX comprises (in addition to usability):
– The visual aspects of the Design of a product or virtual store;
– The interactive aspects of the Design of a product or virtual store;
– The characteristics of the information architecture of a virtual store;
– Search resources intended for users of an e-commerce site;
- A content strategy of a virtual store and its e-commerce blog.
Improving the UX of your online store or the products you sell within it is important because it will allow you to increase your sales and your average order value.
One of the most emblematic examples of UX optimization is what I describe in the article " When a button makes all the difference in e-commerce design ," in which I recount how a company increased its annual revenue by $300 million with a simple change to its interface.
However, it's not just the usability of your store that should be good, but also the usability of your products. If the UX with the store and the products is good, consumers will always come back to buy more.
