BARACK OBAMA ON VTEX DAY
At the beginning of the interview, Obama said that he enjoys Pele's football and Tom Jobim's music. However, what he likes most about Brazil are the people.
Later on, he said that he was only successful in life because he was lucky. Lucky to have a mother and grandparents who took care of him. And who gave him all the support so that he could develop.
The former president recalled the last time he was in Brazil, when he played soccer with children from a favela. He said those kids were a lot like him, except for one difference. He had opportunities.

FAILURE PAVES THE PATH TO SUCCESS
“It's good to try many things, even if you don't succeed,” Obama said at one point in the interview. "Your scars are lessons that will help you in the future".
In this regard, Obama revealed that he always advises people not to be afraid to try.
Well, here's a lesson that comes in handy in e-commerce . Many entrepreneurs, like you who are reading this now, want to have an online store, but at some point they may be afraid to try.
So, if you are one of these entrepreneurs, take into account what the former US president recommends us. “Failures pave the way for future success.”
In entrepreneurship methods such as an e-commerce startup, for example, making mistakes fast is fundamental. However, in this case, the errors are deliberate and controlled. The goal is to make mistakes in order to learn, but with as little loss as possible.

TECHNOLOGY
“We are trying to deliver technology to the world. What advice would you give us to overcome our lack of tradition in this area?”, asked Geraldo Thomaz.

Obama began his response by saying that one of the most powerful things about innovations in the modern digital age is that they don't depend on geography.
“Today, ideas travel at the speed of light across the globe. Alibaba, for example, is succeeding in delivering technology. But 30 years ago, when Jack Ma started this business, there was no tradition for it in China.”
In addition, Obama also said that it is necessary to create a favorable scenario for these things to work. This scenario, in turn, is built with legislation, accountability, investments in schools, regulation for intellectual property and even the payment of taxes.

EDUCATION
For Obama, teachers have the power to build trust in people.
He said he had great teachers throughout his life, but it was a third grade teacher who taught him something he would never forget.
Obama revealed that he was very different from the other students at the school he attended and that at the time he felt like a misfit. However, this teacher helped him feel proud to be in that place.

INEQUALITY
When asked about inequality, Obama explained that both Brazil and the US were founded on it.
However, the Constitution there helped to include people in the US family, “the more people they included, the more successful they were,” he said.
Therefore, according to Obama, if African descendants are excluded, if women are excluded, the chances of success decrease, “all this is talent that is being left behind”.
