In e-commerce, SEO performance is simply the performance of an e-commerce blog, online store, or marketplace on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

In practice, the better the SEO performance, the more organic visits your e-commerce website pages receive. Therefore, the greater the chances of your e-commerce converting leads and customers.

2 STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE THE SEO PERFORMANCE OF YOUR E-COMMERCE

It is possible to improve the SEO performance of your e-commerce in several ways. Here are two strategies:

1 – Keywords:

Before creating a post for your blog or a sales page for your online store, determine what your focus keyword will be. The focus keyword is the keyword that the consumer will use to search for a product or other type of content on Google. In that case, try to use the most searched terms.

For example, if you have an e-commerce store selling sneakers, you could use the terms "Nike sneakers" or "Nike tennis shoes" on one of your sales pages. But which one to use? Well, using a Keyword Planner platform or equivalent, you can find out which of these two terms is searched more frequently on Google.

So, right after figuring out which of the terms has the most amount of searches on Google, insert it into the titles, subtitles and SEO tags of the post or sales page. This will allow people who are searching for this term to find your page or post on the SERPs more often, improving SEO performance.

2 – Pillar page:

A pillar page is one that groups several keywords around a piece of content. For example, let's say you want to cover the topic “types of sneakers” on your e-commerce blog. In this case, in addition to citing the keyword “types of tennis” as a focus, you will include complementary keywords.

That is, the title of the page will be “types of tennis”. But throughout it you should include subheadings with terms like “sports shoes”, “casual shoes”, “tall shoes”, etc. The idea, therefore, is to create rich content that will guarantee a greater chance of appearing on the SERPs.

As you can see, the pillar page is able to cover a topic more completely. It answers many user questions in one place. Thus, it generates more hits, increases the duration of visits and improves the SEO performance of the site as a whole.
