Welcome to the e-Plus agency blog, the place where e-commerce news comes flying. And the news of the time is this: “Mercado Livre launches a fleet of planes”. That's right, this famous Argentine e-commerce launched the company Meli Air with a view to speeding up deliveries.
Mercado Livre, for those not in the know, is the largest e-commerce group in Latin America. Its market value is US$ 60,644 billion, above even Vale (US$ 59,363 billion) and Petrobras (US$ 57,537 billion).
The company Meli Air, in turn, has four planes enveloped with the Mercado Livre logo, including a Boeing 737-400. These aircraft will fly this way seven days a week transporting products from Mercado Livre's distribution centers located in São Paulo and Bahia.
It is a mistake, however, to think that the planes are from Mercado Livre. None of that. The company closed a service provision contract with Sideral Linhas Aéreas, to which the entire structure for the project belongs. In addition, Mercado Livre intends to hire other companies in the future, such as Azul, Latam and Total Cargo.
