TMS is the English acronym for Transportation Management System, which in Portuguese means Transport Management System. It is a software that makes it possible to organize the storage and distribution processes of companies, including e-commerce ones.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A TMS SYSTEM?

With a TMS you can carry out various logistical activities within your company. For example, this software allows you to:

  • Register transport vehicles and thus organize your fleet;
  • Plan product shipping routes for your customers and thus avoid delivery delays;
  • Track fleet vehicles and, in this way, follow the shipping processes in real time;
  • Register price lists and transport tariffs;
  • Generate reports on deliveries and on driver performance;
  • Carry out the financial control of your transport operations.

Furthermore, a TMS allows you to issue electronic transport documents and cargo manifests, among other actions. Therefore, this type of software can be very useful for companies, especially e-commerce companies like yours.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

By deploying TMS software in your e-commerce, you can reap benefits such as:

  • Easier to plan your transport activities;
  • Easier to act preventively, avoiding errors and unnecessary costs;
  • Better logistical organization and consequent reduction in transport operating costs;
  • More practicality and assertiveness to make decisions;
  • Greater possibility of preventing thefts through an efficient tracking system;
  • More agility in last mile deliveries (last mile).

Finally, through a TMS it is possible to monitor freight, be aware when drivers leave the route, generate data for presentation in inspections or for internal analysis, and much more. For these and other reasons, it is worth implementing e-commerce in your company.
