E-commerce security: what worries Latin Americans?

I have regularly said that third-party research is a great resource for better understanding the target audience represented by the Buyer Persona and, therefore, optimizing our online stores . And it's always worth remembering that "whoever doesn't optimize gets screwed" (excuse the parody).

Therefore, today I want to comment on the Online Payments Journey study conducted by the international payment provider, Worldpay, which (in 14 countries across 5 permanently inhabited continents):

• Interviewed 7 thousand e-consumers;
• Analyzed 700 travel and retail sites.

With regard to Latin America, the survey shows that:

• 60% of Latin Americans (Brazilians, Chileans and Mexicans) feel more secure on sites that display digital payment security certifications on the homepage;

• 51% of Latin Americans who see the logo of their preferred payment system on the homepage of an online store feel more confident making an online purchase;

• Among the websites surveyed, those from Brazil and Mexico rarely showed e-commerce security information on the homepage;

• 53% of Latin American travel shoppers would like to have live chat support at the time of purchase.

Visit the Worldpay research page (in English) for more data. And if you're not very good at analyzing numbers, look for a Digital Marketing agency and outsource e-commerce consulting , e-commerce evaluation , and e-commerce management services , which are a great help in optimization and free up time so you can focus on the key activities of your e-commerce business.
