Google Ads Quality Score is a feature that compares the quality of sponsored advertising from various advertisers and thus creates an ad ranking in Google search results.

In other words, this index identifies how each ad on Google affects the consumer experience. So, the better the experience, the better the ad position after a search.

The better classified ads, in turn, can have the cost reduced. Thus, they generate better Return on Investment (ROI) for their paid media campaigns on the famous web search engine.

Indeed, this is a very important tool for advertisers like you, as it allows you to improve the quality of your ads. It provides clues as to where to make optimizations to get better results.

HOW DOES THE GOOGLE ADS QUALITY INDEX WORK?

The Google Ads Quality Score measures performance on three factors:

  • Click Through Rate (CRT): indicates the percentage of Internet users who click on an ad right after viewing it. The more clicks the better, as this shows how relevant your advertising is to consumers. This is undoubtedly the most important factor in the index.
  • Relevance: This is how much your ad matches the internet user's search intent. Consumers search using keywords and your advertising must meet the expectations behind them. The more closely the ad fits the search intent, the better.
  • Landing page: The ad points a link to a landing page which could be a product page within your online store, for example. Finally, it needs to offer a good browsing experience, security, content and credibility to be classified with good performance.

The quality score generates a score from 1 to 10 for these factors. This score is compared to that of other advertisers. Thus, the higher the score, the greater the relevance of your ad in relation to competitors' ads. And the greater the relevance, the better the position of the same after a search.

In addition, you can use the index to find out how to improve your ads. If, for example, you know that your landing page is bad, then you can improve it before activating your advertising.

HOW TO VIEW THE QUALITY INDEX

To see the quality score is very simple. Just log in to your Google Ads account and click on “Keywords” in the menu on the left. Afterwards, click on the “Columns” icon and “Modify columns”. Find the line “Quality Index” and check the corresponding box. Finally, click on “Apply”.

This will generate the “Quality Score” column in your ad listing. Now, just follow the grades and make the improvements possible to generate better ads.
