Marcopolo's marketplace is of the B2B type, that is, it aims at trade between companies. In fact, spare parts are being made available for sale for the three main brands of the aforementioned multinational, in addition to Mercedes and Volvo, among others.

The system is configured on a platform developed by CWS, which was combined with the SAP management system. The cloud integration project was carried out by Marcopolo's internal Information Technology team.

For now, there are two product categories available:

  • Auto Parts: bodies, gearboxes, transmissions, steering, axles, side members, clutches, brakes, engines, suspensions, electrical and electronics;
  • tires and wheels: spare tire stops, wheel bolts and nuts, etc.

Each part has a specific sales page with identification code, name, vehicle type and application, among other information. They have a factory warranty, that is, they are certified that they are identical to those used on the assembly line.

As you can see, this marketplace increases the power of the company. Until then, Marcopolo worked with the stocks of a quartet of branches based in São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná and Minas Gerais. Now, however, the multinational now has a network of 60 other reseller players throughout Brazil, which are integrated into the online system.

MARCOPOLO E-COMMERCE OBJECTIVES

The launch of this marketplace aims to:

  • Connecting companies that use Marcopolo's branded buses to the nearest partner spare parts stores via geolocation;
  • Facilitate the B2B self-service process by enabling customers to find replacement parts faster and order them online;
  • Expand the services offered by the manufacturer in order to add more value to the company's bus sales and retain more customers;
  • Manage resellers' inventory and in this way gain a better understanding of how their stocks work.

Finally, it is worth remembering, when managing the inventory of partner companies via the marketplace, Marcopolo will be able to verify which parts have the greatest demand for replacement, understand regional demands and facilitate the redistribution of parts according to demand, among other actions.

FUTURE OPTIMIZATIONS

The marketplace is already up and running, but will have future optimizations. For example, the end customer will soon be able to:

  • View integrated stocks from retailers with suggested price;
  • Select installation service options for the purchased item.

Furthermore, Marcopolo intends to install Linx's dealership management software in its partner companies, which currently work with 15 different ERP systems. This unification would improve the overall productivity of the business.
